HP ENVY 5640
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a problem with the  HP Envy 5644. Our new notebook, windows 10 version 1809, cannot print. Windows let me know that i printed, i get no error and nothing stays in the que, but nothing comes out of the printer. Mij old notebook, with windows 10 version 1803 , print just fine. So i guess the problem is the driver ( 23-06-2017 ) and is not working with 1809. Can anybody comfirm this theorie ? Even a fresh windows install ( 1809 ) did not help.

When i don't use the software, and let windows find the printer, it finds the printer, i can install, by type the wps code from the display of the printer,  it and even print a testpage, wich comes out of the printer. But the driver is not available, so any app cannot see the printer, and the only way to install de driver complete is the software that doesn't work.

Anybody can help me ?

Welcome to the HP Support Community

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to fix driver issue.

Click on this link:https://support.hp.com/in-en/topic/printscandoctor to download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Try to print.

If the issue persists, I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:

Remove the USB if connected

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Note:  make sure you select the correct operating system.

Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-5640-e-all-in-one-printer-series/6583033 to download and install the Full Feature Software and Driver.

Thanks. I can print now. I had to remove the hp software and find manually the printer. And then the print doctor who completed the driver. It would be better if hp update the software 😉 But i'm glad that the printer is working now. Thanks a lot!
