Hp Photosmart 6510 does not print text files or all chracters in pdf files

Hello guys,

after a black cartridge change my printer does not print text files in word documents. in pdf files certain characters are missing in the print. black is in general lighter as before the change. if i try to print text from editor i get an empty page.

I tried the scan doctor, but it only says that ther are issues and doesn't specifiy which.

I understand the print quality while printing in black is not satisfactory. To assist you better, are you using HP ink cartridges?

Check the ink levels and replace any empty/low ink cartridges.

Clean the ink cartridges/printhead as shown in this document - No black ink, wrong colors, other print quality issues, and print a quality report to check the result. 

Note: You may proceed to a second-level cleaning if the print quality is not up to mark.

The error occured after i changed cartridges and yes i use hp cartridges. Funny thing is if a print a word document with an picture embeded in the text, the pichture is printed but not the surrounding text. So to me it looks more like a software problem than a hardware problem.

Did you perform the steps mentioned in my previous post?

Are you using the HP Smart app to print?

Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that prints fine. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Hello, i did the perform the previous mentioned steps. black is not as intense as the other colors but lines are fine. I tired to copy a letter from my insurance company. The name which is red was printed fine in big letters, but every other text in black is poorly printed and mostly unrecognizable, excepte 7.8 lettes at the botteom of the letter. bulletpoints in red are printed good aswell.  one qr code (black is bad aswell.

After the 5 cleaning of the printer head it now prints clearly. thx for the help. the post can be closed
