Hello,

Recently downloaded HP click for my large format design jet printer. I cannot get HP click to even open. Every time I get an error message with some type of java script error. Any suggestions?

Hi @dmenard,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like HP Click is encountering a JavaScript error, which can be related to software compatibility or a missing dependency. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.

Update Java

  • HP Click relies on JavaScript, so make sure you have the latest version of Java installed.
  • Go to the official Java website and download the latest version for your system.
  • After updating, restart your computer and try opening HP Click again.

Check for HP Click Updates

  • Make sure you have the latest version of HP Click.
  • Visit the HP Click support page to download any available updates or reinstall the software.

Reinstall HP Click

  • Uninstall HP Click from your system.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Re-download HP Click from the official HP website and reinstall it.

Check System Requirements

  • Ensure your computer meets the system requirements for running HP Click. These are usually listed on the download page.
  • If you’re using an older or incompatible operating system, that could cause issues.

Run as Administrator

  • Right-click on the HP Click icon and choose Run as Administrator. This can sometimes resolve permission issues that prevent the software from running properly.

Disable Antivirus/Firewall Temporarily

  • Your antivirus or firewall may be blocking HP Click. Temporarily disable them and try launching HP Click to see if it resolves the issue.

Check for JavaScript Errors in the System Logs

  • Go to Event Viewer on your computer (Windows) and look under Application Logs for any specific error details.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
