Hi @raygr850,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your HP DeskJet 2620 printer, your trusted companion for printing, suddenly throws a "printing error" despite being connected via USB. Let's walk through this together with care and clarity, like gently untangling a knot in your workflow.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to resolve the issue on Windows 10 (64-bit):

1. Check USB Connection

  • Ensure the USB cable is firmly connected to both the printer and your PC.
  • Try a different USB port on your computer.
  • Avoid using USB hubs; connect directly to the PC.

2. Restart Devices

  • Power off your printer and PC.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then power them back on.
  • This refresh often clears temporary glitches.

3. Reinstall the Printer Driver

4. Use HP’s USB Troubleshooter

5. Run HP Diagnose & Fix Tool

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
