HP ENVY 7645 e-All-in-One Printer

My laptop has always printed to this printer but within the last two months says, “printer needs attention” and will not print from my laptop

I understand your HP ENVY 7645 e-All-in-One Printer is having trouble communicating with your laptop, resulting in the "printer needs attention" message. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot the issue:
 

Steps to Fix the Issue:

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure the printer is turned on, connected to the same network as your laptop, and has paper and ink.
  • Check the printer's screen for any specific error messages or alerts.

Restart Devices:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Restart your laptop.
  • After a minute, plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Clear Print Queue:

  • On your laptop, go to the Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP ENVY 7645 and choose See what's printing.
  • If there are stuck jobs, clear the queue by selecting them and clicking Cancel.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for the HP ENVY 7645.
  • Install the updated driver and restart your computer to ensure everything is set up properly.

Re-add the Printer:

  • In Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer and choose Remove device.
  • Then click on Add a printer and follow the prompts to re-add your printer.
