@mel7999, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Envy 6020e Printer Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Envy 6020e printer is displaying only the information icon ('i') and not showing wireless options on the control panel or being recognized by your laptop, follow these troubleshooting steps:

Basic Troubleshooting Steps

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cable.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds before reconnecting the power cable.
  • Turn on the printer and check if the issue persists.

Check Connections:

  • Ensure that all cables are securely connected.
  • Verify that the USB cable is properly connected if you are using a wired connection with your laptop.

Printer Reset:

  • Unplug the USB cable if connected.
  • While the printer is powered on, disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds, then plug the power cord back into the outlet and the printer.

Wireless Network Check:

  • Make sure that the printer is within range of your wireless router for a stable connection.
  • Check that there are no obstacles between the printer and the router that might interfere with the wireless signal.

Driver and Software Update:

  • Check for any available updates for your printer drivers from the HP Support website.
  • Ensure that the HP Smart app or HP Printer Assistant is installed on your computer for easy setup and configuration.

Network Diagnostic Test:

  • Perform a network diagnostic test from the printer's control panel or via the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS) to check for network issues.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
