HP LaserJet 400 Color m451 nw printer
Microsoft Windows XP

A friend of mine has an   Hp laserjet 400 color m451 nw printer.

Their operating system is windows xp professional. I am looking for a print driver that would work on this operating system. HP only supports windows xp 32 bit but not windows xp 64 bit.

Would anyone know where I could get this driver or a compatible driver?

They are retired couple who are not friendly to technology. It would be difficult to convince them to upgrade the operating system, even if it was possible.

Thank you

Hi,

The printer is supported on Windows XP 32-bit only, 64-bit support is not available for Windows XP for the printer, you may find its specifications below, see the 'MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS' section:

http://brochure.copiercatalog.com/hp/ce956a.pdf

You may try the older Universal Print Driver version 5.9.0 which was the latest version to support Windows XP 64-bit:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/UPD/hp-upd-5.9.0.18326/upd-pcl6-x64-5.9.0.18326.exe

Be aware that this is not officially supported, it may work and may not

For a network connection select Traditional Mode and follow the steps on screen to create a TCP/IP port, for USB select Plug and Play and connect the USB only when prompt to do so, then check if this may work.

Hope that may help,

Shlomi
