Hi @Kazim2,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP LaserJet M140we printer is having trouble completing its Wi-Fi setup, which is why it's showing the orange blinking Wi-Fi icon and the setup remains incomplete.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

Since you've already tried a reset, I suggest making sure that the network settings are fully cleared before attempting the setup again.

  • Factory Reset:
    • Press and hold the Cancel button (X) and Wireless button on the printer until the control panel lights flash (about 10 seconds).
    • This will reset the printer’s network settings.

2. Re-run the Setup Process

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall the printer and connect it to the Wi-Fi network.
  • Ensure that your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.

3. Check Your Wi-Fi Network HP printer setup (Wi-Fi network)

  • Wi-Fi Router Settings: Ensure that your router is set to a 2.4 GHz band, as some printers are not compatible with 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
  • Network Stability: Ensure there are no issues with your Wi-Fi network. You can try restarting the router to see if it resolves the issue.

4. Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)  Find the wireless network password or PIN to connect an HP printer

Connect an HP printer using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)

If the setup still fails, try connecting using WPS:

  • On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button until the Wi-Fi indicator starts blinking.
  • Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
  • The printer should automatically connect to the network.

5. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • If the printer is connected to the app, check for any available firmware updates. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve connectivity issues.

6. Test the Printer's Wi-Fi Connection

  • If the printer’s Wi-Fi light is still blinking orange, it’s likely not connected to the network. Try printing a Network Configuration Page:
    • On the printer, hold the Wireless button until it starts flashing and release it.
    • This will print a page with network details, including connection status. If it shows that the printer is not connected to a network, try reconnecting it.

I hope this helps.
