Hi @Dc_7,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Officejet printer is showing an error related to updating HP Instant Ink status, it typically means that the printer is trying to sync with the HP Instant Ink service but is encountering an issue. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this.

Check Your HP Instant Ink Subscription Status:

  • Log into your HP Instant Ink account.
  • Verify that your subscription is active and there are no issues with billing or plan changes.

Ensure Printer Connectivity:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the internet. If using WiFi, confirm that the printer is on the same network as your computer or mobile device.
  • You can check the printer's network connection by printing a network configuration report from the printer's settings.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can update it using the HP Smart app or from the printer’s control panel under "Settings" > "Printer Maintenance" > "Update the Printer."

Restart Printer and Router:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it for about 30 seconds before turning it back on.
  • Restart your router to ensure a stable internet connection.

Reinstall Instant Ink:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your device, go to your printer, and try to reconnect or reinstall the Instant Ink service.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
