Hp2700e printer drivers not working

So I can't get this printer/scanner to work.  I called Hp support and he saw most of my drivers are not working and stated it would cost me over 100 dollars to install. Can I fix this myself? I'm technically technologically challenged

Drivers - "most of your drivers" are not likely broken.

Yes, were it true, it would be scary .

"Eeek!"

"It's all broken!"

"Your computer is full of malware and bugs!"

"Quick!  Give us your credit card and we will save you!"

These are common gambits played by the scammers and thieves who infest the Internet.

You do not need to spend money to install supported printer software on a supported Operating System / version.

There are just a few printer apps and printer software packages that you really need --

• Full Feature Software (for supported versions of Windows)
• HP Smart Application for PC (Windows)

HP Smart is an application that supports print and scan for PDF and Photos / Images.

The app is available in the Microsoft Store

• Miscellaneous scan and printer programs that work nicely once the Full Feature Software is installed
• HP Smart Mobile or at least Airprint for your supported mobile device (for example, iPad, iPhone).

Very probably yes.

Printer - Software

 - Windows -

HP Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software - supports printing and scanning from the web, printing in in other software and programs (for example, Word), and provides access to the full range of Printing Preferences / Shortcuts.  The full driver adds at least two shortcuts to the Desktop: Printer Assistant and HP Scan. If the printer model includes built-in Fax hardware, the software supports the setup and use of the Fax driver. No Sign-in required.

Basics - Printer Software

Note: Skip part(s) that are not relevant to your situation.

Uninstall the full driver printer software from Programs and Features

Restart computer and Sign in

Next,

If using a printer USB cable between the printer and the computer, disconnect the cable before installing the printer software.

Install a new copy of the Full Feature Software

If using a printer USB cable between the printer and the computer, connect the cable when instructed (near the end of the installation).

Restart computer and Sign in

Using Easy Start?? Be sure when offered the choice to install the "Full Software".

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.

When needed / wanted, enable "Scan to Computer" using the Printer Assistant

Open the Printer Assistant shortcut > Tab Scan > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable
