I just want to know if my hp 7900 series can print business cards and print them on color?  If so how?

Hi @Jojobeanz,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand and absolutely! Here’s how to print full-color business cards using your HP ENVY Inspire 7900:

Can It Print Business Cards in Color?

Yes, your ENVY Inspire 7900 can print standard business cards in full color, as long as you use the right paper stock and settings:

  • Media types supported: The printer can handle custom media up to 180 g/m² for brochure/professional matte, and up to 300 g/m² for photo paper.
  • Custom sizes: The main tray supports widths from 3.85″ to 8.5″ and lengths up to 14″, perfect for business cards (typically 3.5″×2″).

How to Print Color Business Cards

1. Choose Suitable Card Stock

  • Look for 200 g/m² matte cardstock designed for inkjet printers (e.g., Avery business card stock).
  • Make sure it's compatible with single-sided printing.

2. Select a Template

  • Use a program like Microsoft Word, Publisher, or Avery’s free online template tool.
  • Choose a 3.5″ × 2″ business card layout and add your design (logos, text, etc.).

3. Configure Printer Settings

  • In your print dialog, set Media Type to HP Matte Brochure/Professional Paper or similar matte stock.
  • Enter a custom size matching your card dimensions (e.g., 3.5″×2″).
  • Choose the best quality color printing.

4. Load Card Stock Properly

  • Fan the cards and load them face down into the main tray.
  • Align the guides snugly but not tightly.
  • Set the tray size and media type on the printer’s display when prompted.

5. Print a Test

  • Start with a test sheet on plain paper to check alignment.
  • Once positioned correctly, print on the cardstock.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
