I have followed the common firmware update steps but the update hangs on ERASING and doesn't progress any further.

Hi @TomK303 ,

 

If nothing works, then try a Laserjet reset, just following instructions from Service Manual.

 

You can find Service Manual by googling "Laserjet CP1525nw Service Manual" and then you will find instructions like next:

I'm unable to do the reset, the firmware corrupt message appears before the printer will take any input from the control panel.
