Hi @bpblcleland,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Certainly! To perform a factory reset on your HP Officejet Pro 8620 printer, you can follow these steps.

  1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
  2. From the printer's home screen, touch the "Setup" button, which looks like a gear icon.
  3. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the "Tools" menu and touch "Tools."
  4. Scroll down and select "Restore Factory Defaults" or "Restore Defaults."
  5. A warning message will appear, informing you that all custom settings will be lost. Confirm the action by selecting "Yes" or "OK."
  6. The printer will proceed with the factory reset process, which may take a few minutes to complete.
  7. Once the reset is finished, the printer will restart and display the initial setup screen.

After the factory reset, you'll need to go through the initial setup process again, including selecting your language, and region, and connecting to your wireless network. Keep in mind that any custom settings or preferences you had previously configured will be erased, and the printer will be restored to its original factory settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

The Restore Factory Defaults is greyed out.

When pressed it says that this feature has been locked by your administrator.

I AM the administrator.

Next step?

Thank you
