@Meham1978, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're trying to connect your HP printer to your personal laptop, which has Microsoft 365 installed. I’ll guide you through the setup process step-by-step.

Step-by-Step: Connect Your HP Printer to Your Laptop

Step 1: Prepare Your Printer

  • Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi.
  • If it’s not yet connected, use the printer’s control panel to connect it to your home Wi-Fi network. You can usually find this under Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.

Step 2: Install HP Smart App

  1. HP Smart is the easiest way to set up and manage your printer.
  2. Download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store: HP Smart
  3. Open HP Smart and sign in or create an HP account.
  4. Click “Add Printer” and follow the on-screen instructions to detect and connect your printer.

Step 3: Install Full Feature Software (Optional but Recommended)

For full functionality (scanning, ink levels, etc.), install the full driver package:

  1. Go to the HP Support site: Official HP® Support
  2. Enter your printer model (e.g., HP DeskJet 2700, HP OfficeJet Pro 8710).
  3. Download and install the Full Feature Software and Drivers.

Step 4: Test Printing

  • Open any document in Microsoft Word or Excel (part of Microsoft 365).
  • Go to File > Print, and select your HP printer.
  • Try printing a test page to confirm everything is working.

Tips

  • If your printer isn’t detected, ensure both your laptop and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Restart both devices if needed.
  • If you face issues, you can also try a USB connection as a temporary workaround.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
