I am trying to setup printer but failed to do so as drivers downloaded get installed without asking for any connection to printer wiredly or wirelessly and when driver gets installed,it still does not appear in device managers. It's impossible that driver gets installed without wired or wireless connection to printer.

Hi @Sunny201,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding setting up your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Connections:

  • Ensure the printer is properly connected to your PC. If using USB, try different ports or cables.
  • Ensure the printer is powered on.

Use Windows Built-in Driver:

  • Often, Windows can auto-detect and install suitable drivers. Connect the printer, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners > Add a printer, and allow Windows to search for available devices.

Download Drivers from HP:

  • Go to the HP Support website and download the latest driver for your printer model compatible with Windows 11.
  • Follow the installation instructions on the website carefully.

Install via Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager from the Start menu.
  • Select Action > Add legacy hardware.
  • Follow the wizard, choose Install the hardware that I manually select from a list, and see if you can locate your printer.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website, which can diagnose and resolve printing problems automatically.

Reinstall the Drivers:

  • Sometimes uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers can resolve any configuration issues.
  • Ensure the printer is disconnected before driver installation and connect it when prompted.

Manual IP Connection:

  • If setting up over a network, ensure you know the printer's IP address. Enter it manually during setup if needed.
