Hi @fos2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Error 1627 during driver installation typically indicates a problem with the installation process, often related to system issues or corrupted files. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Check for Windows Updates

Ensure that your Windows operating system is fully updated:

  • Open Settings: Press Win + I.
  • Go to Update & Security: Select Windows Update.
  • Check for Updates: Click Check for updates and install any available updates.

2. Run Windows Troubleshooter

Use the built-in Windows Troubleshooter for installing and uninstalling programs:

  • Open Settings: Press Win + I.
  • Go to Update & Security: Select Troubleshoot.
  • Additional Troubleshooters: Click on Additional troubleshooters.
  • Select Program Compatibility Troubleshooter: Run this troubleshooter to check for issues with the installation process.

3. Delete Temporary Files

Sometimes temporary files can interfere with installations:

  • Open Disk Cleanup: Press Win + S and search for Disk Cleanup.
  • Select C Drive: Choose the drive where Windows is installed (usually C:).
  • Clean Up System Files: Click on Clean up system files and check Temporary Windows installation files and Temporary files.

4. Manually Download and Install Drivers

If you’re unable to download drivers using the provided software, try downloading them directly:

  • Visit HP Support: Go to the HP Support website.
  • Search for Your Printer Model: Enter your printer model (HP ENVY Inspire 7900e).
  • Download Drivers Manually: Choose the appropriate driver for your operating system and architecture (ensure compatibility with ARM64 if applicable).

5. Check for Corrupted System Files

Corrupted system files can cause installation issues:

Run System File Checker (SFC):

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator: Press Win + X and select Command Prompt (Admin) or Windows PowerShell (Admin).
  2. Run SFC Command: Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. Wait for the process to complete and follow any prompts.

Run DISM Tool:

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator: As above.
  2. Run DISM Command: Type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press Enter. Wait for the process to complete.

6. Check Installation Permissions

Ensure you have the necessary permissions to install drivers:

  • Run Installer as Administrator:
    1. Right-click the downloaded driver file.
    2. Select Run as administrator.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
