Hi,

Thank you for replying.

For HP Smart you need a Wireless connection. Is your printer connected to a Wireless Network.

Please connect to the same with the below instructions.

Connect your printer to a wireless network with a router
To connect the printer to an integrated wireless WLAN 802.11 network, you will need the following:
● A wireless 802.11b/g/n network that includes a wireless router or access point.
NOTE: The printer only supports connections using 2.4GHz (not 5.0 GHz, only 2.4).
● A computer connected to the wireless network that you intend to connect the printer to.
● Network name (SSID).
● WEP key or WPA Passphrase (if needed).

To connect the printer
1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch (Wireless).
2. Touch Settings.
3. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Once the printer is connected to the Network, it will have an IP Address. Touch the wireless icon again on the home screen to get the IP address.

Type the IP address in the browser and hot enter to open the Printer's EWS. This is just to verify that the printer and the PC are connected on the same network.

If the PC is not on the same 2.4 Ghz network, then you need to get it to that connection.

Then Install HP Smart and once installed, click on Add printer (the + symbol), the printer should now get detected and get connected with HP Smart.

You may also choose to use Webscan from printer's EWS, or in built softwares like MS Paint, Windows Fax and Scan for scanning.

no - been there too, tried that also.  learned more than I EVER wanted to know about my printer, the embedded web service that refuses to be disabled, that prior full versions of the needed software were  on the hp websites but when you hit the link designated as the full set of drivers, hp has re-directed or written over the code so you are taken to the basic drivers..

Hi,

I would like to know what is the status of the wireless light on the printer, the blue light?

Is it glowing or off, or blinking?

Please try downloading the software from the below link...

Thanks
