Hi @krey2,
Thanks for sharing the details.
I’m sorry to hear that updating your Mac OS has caused printing issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715. It’s frustrating when a routine update disrupts your workflow. Let’s explore solutions to get your printer working again.
- Have you tried printing from different applications to see if the issue persists across all of them?
- Is your printer connected via Wi-Fi, USB, or Ethernet?
- Do you see any error messages or notifications when attempting to print?
Let's try these steps.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Go to the HP Support website and check for updated drivers or software compatible with macOS 15.2.
- Download and install the latest HP Smart app or driver package for your printer model. or you can install HP easy start.
Reset the Printing System:
- Open System Preferences on your Mac and go to Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) in the list of printers and select Reset Printing System.
- Re-add your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 by clicking the + button and selecting the printer.
Verify Printer Connection:
- If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi, ensure it is on the same network as your Mac.
- Print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel to confirm the connection status.
- Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi if necessary.
Use AirPrint or Generic Driver:
- When adding the printer in Printers & Scanners, select AirPrint or Generic PostScript Printer in the Use dropdown menu instead of a specific HP driver.
- Test printing with this configuration.
Check for macOS Updates:
- Go to System Preferences > Software Update and ensure macOS 15.2 is fully up to date.
- Sometimes Apple releases compatibility updates for printers shortly after a major OS update.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hello again. I haven just had a chance to try all the solutions you suggested, but to no avail. I tried a few different programs to print from, but none will work. I continue to get a message on the printer's screen that says "printing" but it won't budge from that. Please let me know if there are other options. I would hate to have to go buy another printer because of this...
Thanks again-
Kristin
