I understand that the above steps didn't resolve the issue.It looks like you've received the defective black ink cartridge.
I recommend you to contact phone support for available service options.

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums!After reading your post I see that you've issue while printing the barcode.I would like to help you out with this issue today.
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this issue,
May I know the print quality on the test page and stand alone copy?
If the issue occurs only during the Email barcode printing, you just had to check mark Print as Image option in Advanced printer settings.
Once you try these suggestions, please report back.
I'll be eagerly waiting to assist you with same, cheers 🙂

I did 2 of the print quality diagnostic tests. The colors come out fine....showing the varisous lights and darks but the black only shows the outline of the box and nothing in it. The print on that page shows in black but nothing in the box. I have tried printing various things and no black shows up. There is ink in it as it is wet but I get a reading that says ink is dying. This is a brand new cartridge that I purchased with the others. Help me please. Thank you. I am desperate. Should I purchase another cartridge? Is this just a waste of money?

I have tried everything to get my printer to print to no avail. The color is fine and the black print on the test is fine but the black to grey in the box does not show and I can not get anything black to print. I ran the printer to clean the head and do the realignment but that did not help either. This is a brand new cartridge. Help
