I have tried what I found on the HP site.  I removed HP smart, I downloaded the version on the store and installed it.  I removed the printer.  It involved 2 different site and 2 different printers.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the printers and ten reinstalled HP smart.

Hi @Frank03595,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've tried a lot of the common troubleshooting steps already. Here are a few more things you might try to resolve the issue with the HP Smart app.

  • Update Software and Drivers: Ensure that your printer’s firmware and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, compatibility issues can arise from outdated software.
  • Check App Permissions: Make sure that the HP Smart app has the necessary permissions enabled on your device. This includes access to your network, storage, and any other relevant settings.
  • Firewall/Security Software: Verify that your firewall or security software is not blocking the HP Smart app. You may need to create exceptions for the app in your firewall or antivirus settings.
  • Network Configuration: Double-check your network settings. Ensure that your printer and device running the HP Smart app are connected to the same network.
  • Clear App Cache (for Mobile Devices): If you’re using a mobile device, try clearing the cache for the HP Smart app. Go to your device’s settings, find the app in the list, and clear its cache.
  • Factory Reset Printer: As a last resort, you might consider performing a factory reset on your printer. This can sometimes resolve persistent connectivity issues.
  • Try on Another Device: If possible, try installing the HP Smart app on a different device (like another phone or tablet) to see if the issue persists there.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
