Hp4220e printer will peint reports from hp smart but will not print from other apps. iPhone 12 iOS 18.0.1. Please help.

It looks like your HP DeskJet 4220e All-in-One Printer is working fine with the HP Smart app but isn’t printing from other apps on your iPhone 12 running iOS 18.0.1. 

 

This issue might be related to AirPrint compatibility, especially after an iOS update.

 

Troubleshooting Steps:

Restart Your Devices

  • Power off your printer, iPhone, and router.
  • Wait for 30 seconds, then turn them back on.

Check AirPrint Settings

  • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your iPhone and ensure it’s connected to the same network as your printer.
  • Try printing from Safari or Notes to see if AirPrint works.

Reinstall the Printer on iPhone

  • Open Settings > Printers & Scanners and remove the HP printer.
  • Restart your iPhone and re-add the printer.

Update iOS & Printer Firmware

  • Ensure your iPhone is running the latest iOS version.
  • Check for printer firmware updates via the HP Smart app.

Reset Network Settings on Printer

  • On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Network and select Restore Network Defaults.
  • Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi using the Wireless Setup Wizard.
