I can print from my andriod phone but not from my computer.

I can print from my phone but not my laptop, ive reinstalled the printer 4 times on the laptop but it says "installation status: not installed" in the printer settings and i do not find the printer when i try to print. I have a DESKJET 2810e

I know how frustrating it feels when your printer works fine from your phone but stubbornly refuses to cooperate with your laptop, especially after you’ve reinstalled it several times. You’ve already done some smart troubleshooting, so let’s build on that together.

1️. Check Network Connection

Let’s first make sure your printer and laptop are speaking the same language (network):

• Make sure both your laptop and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
• On the printer, press the Information (i) button and Cancel (X) button together — this should print a Network Configuration Report.
• Look for the printer's IP address and confirm it matches your network.

2️. Completely Remove Existing Printer Drivers

Sometimes, a clean slate is the best fix:

• On your laptop, go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners.
• Find your DeskJet 2810e — if it’s listed, click it and select Remove.
• Open Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall any HP printer software you see.
• Restart your laptop.

3️. Download & Install Using HP Smart

HP recommends using the HP Smart app for easy, reliable setup:

• Download the latest HP Smart app for Windows from the HP website or Microsoft Store.
• Open the app, click Set up a new printer.
• Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi.
• Follow the on-screen steps to add your DeskJet 2810e.

4️. Set as Default & Test Print

• Once installed, go back to Settings > Printers & Scanners.
• Find your DeskJet 2810e, click Manage, then Set as Default.
• Open a document and try printing — make sure to select DeskJet 2810e from the printer list.
