HP Tango X
Microsoft Windows 11

I followed the steps to adjust the print quality in the KB, but I don't see what the steps describe. I

  1. I click Print from a Word doc.
  2. I select my Tango X printer, then click Printer Properties.
  3. I see a Layout tab, no option to change print quality like in other applications and printers.
  4. I click Advanced and all I see is Paper size, count, and graphic quality. Where is black and white, grayscale, and draft quality options for when I normally print????

Here's what I see. I even went to Windows Printer settings and didn't find this option.

I don't see these options as described on the support site. I know it's a different printer, but I should see these options.

@sophster, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like your HP Tango X printer isn't showing the standard print quality options like Draft, Normal, Best, or Black & White in Printer Properties. This can happen due to driver limitations or using a generic Windows driver instead of the full HP driver.

Switch to the HP Smart App for More Settings:

The HP Tango series often relies on HP Smart rather than the standard driver UI.

Open HP Smart (download from Microsoft Store if needed).

Go to Print Settings > Preferences and check if the missing options appear.

Manually Add the HP Printer Driver:

Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

Right-click the printer and select Remove device.

Click Add a printer, then The printer I want isn’t listed.

Choose Add a local printer, select Use an existing port (USB or WSD).

Select HP Tango X.

Install it and check Printer Preferences again.

Check Windows Settings:

Open Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners.

Click on your printer and select Printing Preferences.

If you still don't see the options, try updating Windows or reinstalling the printer.
