Hi @Thtt,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP ENVY Pro 6455 is having trouble finding Wi-Fi during the setup process, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check Printer Location and Wi-Fi Signal
- Make sure the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi network.
- Avoid placing the printer near large metal objects or electronic devices that may interfere with the signal.
2. Ensure Wi-Fi is Enabled on the Printer
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. If there is a Wi-Fi button on the printer, press it to enable the wireless connection.
3. Restart Devices
- Turn off the printer, your router, and any other network devices.
- Wait for about 30 seconds, then turn them back on. Sometimes a simple restart can fix connection issues.
4. Check Network Compatibility
- Ensure your printer is compatible with your Wi-Fi network’s frequency band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz). Many printers only support 2.4 GHz networks.
5. Use the HP Smart App for Setup HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device from the HP Smart website.
- Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your printer. The app often helps with connecting to Wi-Fi.
6. Connect to Wi-Fi Manually
- On the printer's control panel, go to the Wi-Fi setup menu.
- Choose the option to manually enter your network name (SSID) and password. Ensure that you input the correct information.
7. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues. Check for updates using the HP Smart app or the HP support website.
8. Check Router Settings
- Ensure that your router’s settings allow new devices to connect. Some routers have security settings that may block new devices from joining the network.
9. Reset Network Settings on Printer
- If you’re still having trouble, you can try resetting the network settings on your printer to default. This option is usually found in the printer’s settings menu.
