I cannot change the paper size on my HP Smart Tank 7301. My only options are 8.5x11 and 8.27x11.69. I loaded the 5x7 paper, but the printer does not autodetect the size either. There is no Printer Properties link when I try to print the photo. I checked Tray and Paper Management and it shows 4x6, 5x7, and 8.5x11 as options, but they are not available to me in the print dialog box, so when I try to print I get a paper size mismatch error. How can I get 5x7 to be an option in the print dialog box?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Try to change the paper size settings undert Embedded Web Server.

In order to get into EWS, first key in the IP address of the printer into the Web Browser. If Login is needed, Login with Admin and the password (PIN, can be found on the Printer Information Report (press "i" to print)

 

Once in EWS, go to "Settings > Tray and Paper management."

Thank you for the response. As I mentioned in my post, I already went to Tray and Paper Management. I did it both in the app and via EWS. Both show all three paper sizes: the Small size is 4x6, the Medium size is 5x7, and the Large size is 8.5x11, but the sizes don't appear in the print dialog box.

We were able change the paper size to 5x7" using HP App when printing photos.

Hello. Yes, I tried using the HP App, and I tried printing the photo directly. What is interesting is that when I printed from my phone using AirPrint, I was able to change the size. I had all the options. However, the options are not available when I try to print from the computer.

Could you uninstall and reinstall the HP App to the latest version on the computer?

What's the Windows version on the Computer?

 

It's probably an outdated driver.
