Hi friends,

usually the installation process should end with with the print-out of the alignment page which then has to be scanned.

But after having followed all steps of the setup of my new HP Printer I was suddenly stopped. At least the print-out of the alignment page doesn`t start. Due to the error hint there must be a jam of the original in the document feeder ("Stau im ADF") or dirt in the feeder.

However there is no original document and the feeder has not yet been used and there is of course no dirt inside. (As part of the unpacking and setup procedure I had removed all adhesive tapes an packing materials in before.)

Neither the "Setup and Reference Guide" nor explanation videos or the "Virtual Assistant" of HP are offering any concrete help.

So, what can I do? There must be a simple reason for the interruption of the setup process of my new HP 7605. I must admit that it is really frustrating as I apparently do not seem to being able just to start a new printer!

Has anyone similar experiences and can give me any advice to solve my problem? (You also can contact me by mail: Edited.)

Best regards and thanks in advance,

Bernd (from Potsdam/Germany)

Hi @Bernd_Potsdam

1. Check that plastic tape and cardboard was removed from the paper tray.

This video shows the complete setup of your HP Smart Tank 7602 all-in-one printer. This video shows unboxing, filling the ink tanks, installing the print heads, loading the paper, alignment, wireless setup, connecting to the home or office wireless network, using the HP Smart App for setup, using

Hi FerRX,

Thx for your reply and advice. For the setup I even had followed that video step-by-step. So I of course had removed all plastic tapes as well as the cardboard from the paper tray.

Now I have watched the video again and checked my printer if I have done each step for the setup. There is no tape or cardboard or anything else within the paper feeder or inside the printer. I have no other explanation to solve my problem.

It seems to be bewitched. I guess I must contact tomorrow the HP service and bring the printer to an official HP repair station.
