Hi @Mat82,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing difficulty connecting your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer to your SKY MAX Hub despite adding its MAC address.
Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
- Verify MAC Address: Double-check that you've correctly entered the MAC address of your printer into the SKY MAX Hub. Sometimes, a small error in the MAC address can lead to connectivity issues.
- Restart Printer and Hub: Power off both your printer and SKY MAX Hub, wait for a few minutes, and then power them back on. This simple step can often resolve connectivity issues by allowing both devices to reset their network connections.
- Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues with newer networking equipment. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check Network Settings: Make sure that your SKY MAX Hub is broadcasting a compatible Wi-Fi network (e.g., 2.4GHz or 5GHz) and that your printer is set up to connect to the appropriate network.
- Security Settings: Ensure that any security settings on your SKY MAX Hub, such as MAC address filtering or firewall settings, are not blocking the connection to your printer.
- Reset Network Settings on Printer: If all else fails, you can try resetting the network settings on your HP printer. This will clear any saved network configurations and allow you to set it up as if it were new.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
