Hi @Hopecharity ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've forgotten the control panel lock password for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 All-In-One Printer, you can try the following steps to reset it:
There are two ways to potentially unlock the control panel of your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 if you forgot the password:
Using the HP Smart App:
- Go to the HP Smart App on your phone or tablet.
- On the homepage, select "Printer Settings".
- On the left-hand side, choose "Advanced Settings".
- At the top of the page, in the gray toolbar, select "Settings".
- From the list, expand the "Security" category and select "Administrator Settings".
- Scroll down and uncheck the box next to "Control Panel Lock" and select "Apply".
Performing a Semi-Full Reset:
Important: This will reset the printer to its factory settings, erasing all data and settings stored on the printer.
- Turn on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 printer.
- Press the "Bottom Left" button (back arrow) on the control panel four times in quick succession.
- The "Support Menu" will appear. Select "Reset Menu" and then "OK".
- Choose "Semi-Full Reset" and confirm with "OK".
- The printer will power down. Wait for it to turn off completely.
- Power the printer back on.
Additional Tips:
- If you haven't changed the default password, try using "12345678" or "admin" to unlock the control panel.
- You can find the printer's administrative menu by pressing the "Home" button on the control panel and navigating to "Settings" > "Preferences" > "Reset Menu".
