Hi @kelly298,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Envy 6400 isn’t printing from your Chromebook anymore. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check Printer’s Network Connection

On the printer, open the Wireless or Network menu and make sure it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi as your Chromebook.

If it's offline, reconnect using the Wireless Setup Wizard.

Restart Both Devices

Restart the printer and your Chromebook.

This refreshes the network link and clears temporary glitches.

Verify Printer Status on Chromebook

On your Chromebook, go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers.

Make sure the HP Envy 6400 is still listed and marked as “Available”.

Remove and Re-add the Printer

In the Printers menu, select your HP Envy 6400 → Remove.

Click Add Printer and let the Chromebook detect it again on the network.

Check for HP Smart App Issues

If you use the HP Smart app, open it and confirm the printer shows as online.

Sign out and back in if it appears disconnected.

Print a Network Configuration Report

From the printer’s control panel, print the Network Report.

Confirm the printer has a valid IP address and connection status is “Connected”.

Try Printing a Test Page from Chromebook

Open any document or webpage → press Ctrl+P → select your HP printer.

See if the printer responds.

I hope this helps.
