@Kizmazz, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer Driver Installation on iPad!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
To print from your iPad using an HP printer, such as the HP Laser Printer, you'll need to use the HP Smart app or AirPrint, rather than installing a traditional driver. Here's how you can proceed:
Print Using AirPrint
Ensure Printer Compatibility: Make sure your HP Laser Printer supports AirPrint. Most modern HP printers do support it.
Printer and Device Set-Up: Ensure both your printer and iPad are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Printing from iPad:
- Open the document, photo, or email you want to print.
- Tap the share icon (a box with an arrow pointing up).
- Select Print.
- Choose your AirPrint-enabled printer.
- Set your desired print options and tap Print.
Print Using the HP Smart App
Download the HP Smart App:
- Go to the App Store on your iPad.
- Search for the "HP Smart" app.
- Download and install the app.
Set Up the Printer:
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Add your printer by following the on-screen instructions when prompted.
Print Using HP Smart:
- Use the app to select and print your documents.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

I certainly appreciate the response and will try as soon as I can figure out why
it keeps showing wrong network password. I know it happens to be correct since
I was able to get AT & T to show my password which is identical to to the password
I used to set up the network.
thanks!

Hi @Kizmazz,
Thanks for getting back to us! I know how frustrating it can be when something as simple as connecting to Wi-Fi becomes a roadblock — you're not alone in this.
Since you're sure the password is correct, here are a few quick things to try:
Restart everything – Power off your iPad, printer, and router for 30 seconds, then turn them back on.
Forget the network – On your iPad, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the "i" next to your network, and choose Forget This Network. Then reconnect and re-enter the password.
Double-check Wi-Fi band – Some HP printers only connect to 2.4 GHz networks. If your router uses both 2.4 and 5 GHz, try connecting your iPad and printer to the 2.4 GHz option.
Once connected, you can continue with the HP Smart app or AirPrint as shared earlier.
Let me know how it goes — we’re here to help every step of the way!
Warm regards,

@Kizmazz, Thanks for hanging in there — I know tech setups can sometimes feel more complicated than they should!
To get your HP Laser Printer working with your iPad (running iOS 18.4.1), you won’t need to download a traditional driver. Instead, the easiest solution is to use the HP Smart app, which is designed specifically for mobile printing with HP devices.
👉 Download it directly from the App Store:
HP Smart App - App Store Link
Once downloaded:
Open the app and follow the prompts to add your HP printer.
Make sure both your iPad and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
From there, you can print documents, photos, and more with just a few taps!
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
