can I download a driver that my printer will work with? As the Chromebook is Google and the printer is a Microsoft brain.

Your Chromebook and HP DeskJet 2855e should be able to work together, but Chrome OS handles printing differently than Windows. 

 

Steps to Set Up Your Printer on Chrome OS

 

1. Check Compatibility

  • HP printers that support Chrome OS don’t require additional drivers.
  • You can check HP’s official support page here for setup instructions.

2. Connect Your Printer to Wi-Fi

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

3. Add Printer on Chromebook

  • Open Settings on your Chromebook.
  • Go to Advanced > Printing > Printers.
  • Click Add Printer and select your HP DeskJet 2855e.

4. Use HP Smart App (Optional)

  • Install the HP Smart App from the Chrome Web Store.
  • Follow the setup instructions to manage printing and scanning.

5. Print a Test Page

  • Open a document or webpage.
  • Press Ctrl + P and select your printer.
  • Click Print to test.
