I have a HP Laserjet P1007 printer which I am recently trying to connect to my other system where the printer is connected and It shows the printer is online in control panel but when I give a test page print or any other print there is no response from the printer and there is no file getting added to the printing queue as well. Hi @ThayaG ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP LaserJet P1007 is not printing despite being listed as online, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue. Here's a step-by-step guide:

1. Check Printer Connections:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB cable.
  • Confirm that the USB port on your computer is functional. Try connecting to a different USB port if available.

2. Restart Printer and Computer:

  • Turn off the HP LaserJet P1007 and your computer.
  • Wait for a few seconds and then turn them back on.
  • Try printing a test page after the restart.

3. Check Printer Status:

  • Open the Control Panel on your Windows 7 computer.
  • Navigate to "Devices and Printers."
  • Right-click on the HP LaserJet P1007 and make sure it is set as the default printer.
  • Check if there are any error messages or warnings associated with the printer.

4. Clear Print Queue:

  • Open the Control Panel.
  • Go to "Devices and Printers."
  • Right-click on the HP LaserJet P1007 and select "See what's printing."
  • Cancel all pending print jobs.

5. Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the current printer drivers for HP LaserJet P1007.
  • Download the latest drivers from the official HP website.
  • Install the new drivers and follow the on-screen instructions.

6. Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your Windows 7 operating system is up-to-date.
  • Go to "Control Panel" > "Windows Update" and check for updates.
  • Install any pending updates.

7. Test with Another Application:

  • Try printing from a different application (e.g., Notepad) to see if the issue is specific to one program.

8. Printer Troubleshooter:

  • Use the built-in Windows Printer Troubleshooter to identify and fix common printing problems.
  • Go to "Control Panel" > "Troubleshooting" > "View all" > "Printers" and run the troubleshooter.

9. Check for Paper Jams or Hardware Issues:

  • Ensure there are no paper jams in the printer.
  • Check if there are any hardware issues such as empty toner or paper tray.

10. Firewall and Antivirus:

  • Temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software to see if they are blocking the print job.

11. Printer Spooler Service:

  • Open the Services window by typing "services.msc" in the Run dialog.
  • Locate the "Print Spooler" service, right-click, and restart it.

12. USB Cable Replacement:

  • Try using a different USB cable to rule out the possibility of a faulty cable.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
