I have a Windows XP SP2 computer and I need a compatible printer. I have tried several printers and so far none of them have worked. I have tried to download drivers but I cannot because the websites will not pull up on the xp computer and I have been unable to email them or transport them a different way. I have tried downloading software to a USB and that also does not work, as soon as I plug in the USB the computer freezes. I have not tried a CD/DVD, so I am unsure if maybe that would work to download the driver software.

You will honestly have better compatibility success with a brother laser printer and using a any HP driver or compatible HP driver with the printer, which are embedded in Windows XP.

**edit** I would add that I also recommend that you use a network or parallel port connection and not usb as newer printers will likely not install properly when connected to usb.
