I have a new HP7740 not printing graphic documents

Bought a new HP7740...I asked prior to purchase would it work with Adobe CS6, Adobe Pro and Affinity Photo. HP sales says yes...until I went to print. The 7740 says it is not compatible. Have an Epson Pixma that works no problem and it recognizes every file type. My 7740 printer only works with Word, Excel etc. HP tech support says it's not their problem and it's an Adobe setting issue but offers no solutions. Program reinstalls do nothing, yet these graphic program work great with other printers. Thinking I should just return this printer since no one at HP tech support seems to care unless someone can help. I do graphic work... I own the programs and don't want to upgrade to the cloud programs. Adobe, of course it not willing to help because they want money every month. My computer is new.... Windows 11 Dell Precision 7680, the other Pixma Epson printer works and recognizes these files, so it is not the graphics programs or my new computer but something to do with 7740 HP printer. Hoping someone has a solution...

Ignore any "off the mark" comments -- I've not used most of what you are describing.

At the moment, I have only a free photo editing / printing software installed -- I like it very much but it is not the subject at hand.

If CS6 is the version of the Adobe Software mentioned in the article, then yes -- this is older software.

My personal opinion

Do what is right for you.

If the full driver printer software does not support the older design software you intend to use,

Return the printer and use what works.

As you say, the alternatives - that is, changing / upgrading your design and editing software, are not to your liking.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer series   is a nice printer.

It might not be the best printer to use with older software.

In general, the only methods that work when your printer software cannot read the structures or file types in your design or photo editing software is to Export (when possible) those structures into a format the printer can understand and print.

If you change the way the file types are handled, that might help.

That said, as you have discovered, the printer software prefers the standard file types (for example, including, .jpg, .png, .tif)

Enter the file type in the search box to find (or change) the software / app used to open that file type
