Hi,

I have configured the paper size in Tray 1 for 8.5 x 11 and Tray 2 for 11x17 paper. I am trying to print on 11x17 paper using Tray 2 but in the paper source drop down box I am not able to choose Tray 2 (it is grayed out and not able to select the Tray). Automatic selection or Tray 1 are the only options.

In the utility assistant I do not have an option for paper handling.

I would like to keep both sizes of paper in the respective paper trays and choose the tray based on printing needs.

Please help!!!

Thanks!

@sleleux,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand you are having issues printing from Tray 2 on your HP OfficeJet 7740 printer. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

After reviewing your post thoroughly, I did go through the User guide of this printer and found that the Tray 2 only support plain paper.

For more in detailed, please go through this link.

In this scenario, I would suggest the best thing would be to inter change the settings.

so I would suggest you configure Tray 2 for 8.5 x 11 and Tray 1 for 11x17 paper.

I'm sure this should do the trick. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

Hi,
I was able to select paper tray 2 by choosing plain paper instead of photo paper. Thank you for the assistance!
