HP OfficeJet Pro 8718
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

the print and scan functions appear to work ok via my various computers but when selecting print document from the App it tells me that the selected printer is detected but not installed completely on my windows system and asks for me to install the print driver from this computer. I have the same problem with my other windows 10 laptop, and when reinstalled the same error shows.

@RogerUK, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor and run the program. It will automatically diagnose and fix any printer connectivity issues.

For more information, go to https://support.hp.com/in-en/topic/printscandoctor

Uninstall the app from your Windows 10 device through the All Apps list.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Apps & features.

    Searching for Apps & features

  2. Click HP Smart in the list of apps, and then click Uninstall.

    Uninstalling HP Smart app

Restart your computer and install the HP Smart App, configure the printer and try printing.

Refer to this document HP Printers - Using the HP Smart App (Windows 10) for help.
