Hi @DrCluster,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Yes, the HP ENVY 6452e All-In-One Printer can work without a wireless network connection. It supports multiple connection methods including USB, which allows you to connect it directly to your computer via a USB cable. Here’s how you can set it up without using a wireless network.

USB Connection Setup:

  • Ensure your printer is powered on and properly set up with ink and paper.
  • Connect one end of the USB cable to the printer and the other end to your computer.
  • Your computer should automatically detect the printer and may install necessary drivers. If not, you may need to install the printer drivers from the HP website.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Direct Printing (Optional):

  • Some HP printers also support direct printing methods, where you can print directly from your device (like a smartphone or tablet) to the printer without needing a network. Check if your printer supports this feature and follow the specific instructions provided in the printer manual or on the HP website.

Using the Control Panel:

  • The printer's control panel should allow you to perform basic functions like copying and scanning directly from the device itself, without needing to connect to a network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

The OS sees the printer but sees it as offline. The printer has new ink. It has paper and it has power. The USB connection is direct.

I have the same situation -- not using wireless connection to the printer. I have successfully been able to use a USB cable to connect my computer to the printer and print off things.

However, it will not stop flashing the "i" button and constantly make me print off a Printer Information Report telling me my printer isn't connected to the internet in order to print off the documents I need. This is a major waste of paper and ink, and I want it to stop.

How does one shut off the wireless function on this printer to make it stop forcing this error report? I really don't want to have to buy a new printer.

Some e series models require a constant internet connection to function properly. Even if you are using USB to send print jobs, the printer still needs to communicate with HP Cloud services.

Thanks. I will sell it online and buy a simpler printer.
