I installed a HP DeskJet 2800 series (CB2D8A) on my iPhone SE. It shows that the printer is ready. I make my selections (number of copies etc) and press print and it doesn’t print.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2800 series printer is set up correctly on your iPhone SE but isn't printing when you send a print job, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone SE.
  • Check if there are any error messages on the printer display that might indicate a connectivity issue.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off both your printer and your iPhone SE.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds, then turn them back on.
  • Once they restart, try printing again to see if the issue is resolved.

Update Firmware and App: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually check and update this through the printer's settings menu.
  • Ensure that your HP Smart app on your iPhone SE is updated to the latest version from the App Store.

Check Print Queue:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your iPhone SE.
  • Check if your print job is stuck in the print queue. If so, try cancelling the job and printing again.

Printer Settings Check:

  • Verify that the paper tray has enough paper and that there are no paper jams.
  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink.

Reinstall Printer (if necessary):

  • If the issue persists, you may need to delete the printer from your iPhone SE and reinstall it.
  • Go to the settings on your iPhone SE, find the printer, and remove it.
  • Then, go through the setup process again to reconnect the printer to your iPhone SE.
