Hi @LindyLou4902,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
1. Check Cartridge Installation
- Ensure the cartridges are properly installed:
- Open the printer’s cartridge access door.
- Make sure the cartridges are securely seated in their slots. The tri-color cartridge should be in the left slot and the black cartridge in the right slot.
- Close the cartridge access door properly and ensure it is latched.
2. Verify Instant Ink Account
- Check your Instant Ink account registration:
- Log in to your HP Instant Ink account and ensure your subscription is active and there are no pending issues.
- Verify that the printer is correctly registered to your Instant Ink account.
3. Reconnect and Restart Printer
- Power cycle the printer:
- Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Ensure the printer firmware is up-to-date:
- Go to the HP Smart app or HP Support website to check for firmware updates.
- Follow the instructions to update the printer’s firmware.
5. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP Support website.
- Launch the tool and follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix the issue.
6. Check for Blocked Vents
- Ensure the vents are not blocked:
- Check the ink cartridge area and ensure there is no packaging material or debris blocking the vents.
I hope this helps.
