Still having issues whereby when printing more that one page, the printer prints the first page then we have to press the Resume bottom to complete the print job.
Is there a quick and easy fix for this. We have to identical printers and this is happening in both locations.
Thanks

Hi @bucier,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue of having to press the "Resume" button after every page when printing multiple pages, which is often related to specific printer settings or hardware issues. Below are some potential fixes:
1. Check for Paper-Related Issues
- Ensure the paper is loaded correctly in the tray.
- Verify that the paper matches the type and size selected in the print settings.
- Check the paper for wrinkles, creases, or damage that might trigger the printer's sensors.
2. Clean the Paper Sensors
- Dust or debris on the paper sensors can cause the printer to pause.
- Turn off the printer, unplug it, and clean the rollers and sensors using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or isopropyl alcohol.
3. Update the Printer Driver
- Ensure the printer driver is up-to-date.
- Download the latest driver for your HP DeskJet 2820e from the HP Support website.
4. Adjust Printer Preferences
- Open the Control Panel on your computer and go to Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select Printing Preferences.
- Ensure the paper type, size, and quality settings match your actual paper.
- Disable "Print in quiet mode" if it's enabled, as this can slow down or interrupt print jobs.
5. Check for Printer Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer.
- Go to Settings and look for Printer Updates.
- Install any available updates to ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date.
6. Turn Off the "Prompt to Resume" Setting (if applicable)
Some HP printers have a setting in the printer control panel or software to disable the need for manual intervention:
- Open the HP Smart app or the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS).
- Look for a Resume Prompt setting and disable it.
7. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait 1-2 minutes.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
8. Test Using a Different PC or Connection
- If the issue persists, test the printers on a different computer or network.
- This can help determine whether the issue is with the printers or the system setup.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
