Hi @JaceyH,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your HP DeskJet 3631 printer is showing as "offline" or "idle," or indicating that the driver is not found, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.
Check Printer Connections:
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB cable or Wi-Fi connection, depending on your setup.
- If you're using a USB connection, try using a different USB port on your computer.
- For Wi-Fi connection, make sure that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and that the network is functioning properly.
Restart Devices:
- Turn off both your computer and the printer.
- Wait for a few minutes, then turn them back on.
- Sometimes, simply rebooting the devices can resolve communication issues.
Check Printer Status:
- Make sure there are no paper jams, empty ink cartridges, or other physical issues with the printer that could be causing it to display errors.
- Check the printer's display panel for any error messages or notifications that may indicate a problem.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your HP DeskJet 3631 printer.
- Install the updated drivers on your computer and see if it resolves the issue.
Set Printer Online:
- On your computer, go to the Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac).
- Navigate to Devices and Printers (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (Mac).
- Right-click on your HP DeskJet 3631 printer and select "Set as default printer" (if it's not already selected).
- Check if there's an option to set the printer online. If so, select it.
Reset Printing System (Mac):
- If you're using a Mac and encountering issues, you can try resetting the printing system.
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Ctrl-click) on the list of printers on the left side and select "Reset printing system."
- After resetting, re-add your HP DeskJet 3631 printer and see if it works.
Check Firewall and Security Software:
- Sometimes, security software or firewall settings can interfere with printer communication. Temporarily disable any firewall or security software and see if the printer connects.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with your HP DeskJet 3631 printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I have a
HP ENVY Photo 7830 All‑in‑One Printer
Very often I get the message 'can´t connect to the internet', and I am very tired of it. I have a good internet, a good wifi and the printer is always turned on. It works, but I get these messages. I have found that HP "find" my printer at a certain time every day, and get the information they need. If I try to connect I always get the message 'no connection, try later'. Why is it so? Please stop sending me emails that I have to do something to connect. It´s not me, it's HP that have to do something to connect. I don't know what.

Hi @leo9999,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing frustration with your HP ENVY Photo 7830 printer frequently displaying a "can't connect to the internet" message, despite having a stable internet connection. This issue could be due to various reasons, including firmware or software glitches, network configuration issues, or communication problems between your printer and the HP servers.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
- Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. HP often release updates to address bugs and improve device performance.
- Network Troubleshooting: Check your Wi-Fi network settings and ensure that your printer is connected to the correct network. You can also try restarting your router and printer to refresh the network connection.
- Printer Settings: Verify that your printer settings are correctly configured for wireless connectivity. Double-check the Wi-Fi settings on your printer to ensure they match your network settings.
- HP Smart App: Consider using the HP Smart app to manage your printer settings and troubleshoot connectivity issues. The app can help diagnose problems and provide solutions.
- Disable Remote Monitoring (Optional): If you're receiving frequent emails from HP prompting you to connect your printer, you may be enrolled in a remote monitoring service. You can check your printer settings or HP account settings to disable remote monitoring if desired.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be an underlying hardware or software issue with your printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
