OfficeJet Pro 8210
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm a bit confused regarding what print driver I'm using and need on my PC and I'm wondering if someone can clue me in.

I have an OfficeJet Pro 8210 and according to Control Panel It list under Print Queue HP758CBC (HP OfficeJet Pro 8210) and lists the driver as 10.0.19041.1  with a date of 6/21/2006.  Every so often Windows update says I need to install 10.0.17119.1 dated 4/22/3009 and it says that driver was installed today but I don't see that version as being installed.  If I go into CCleaner it says my driver is 8.0.1329.5768 dated 11/8/2018 and I need to install driver 61.250.1.24832 dated 8/20/2020.  If I go out to the HP Driver site for my printer it says that the Universal PCL6 driver for my printer is version 7.0.0.24832 dated 9/8/2020.  So I'm very confused as to why Microsoft occasionally will install version 10.0.17119.1 as it did today but a different version is shown in Control Panel and CCleaner reports yet a different version and a different recommended version.  The good news is my printer is working just fine but this whole driver thing has me confused.  Just so you know my printer is connected to my router not not a USB connection.  Can anyone clear this up for me?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that you wanting to install the correct printer driver on your Windows PC.

To get the answer to this question, your HP Officejet Pro 8210 Series Firmware is 001.2107A and the release date: Apr 20, 2021

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP OfficeJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
