HP LaserJet 1020 Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My LaserJet 1020 works well on a computer running Windows 10 and in Device Manager appears as a printer. It will not work on a new computer with Windows 11 and appears in DM, not as a printer, but in the USB controllers section.

Any thoughts?

For those having trouble with DOT4_001 or PCL5** If DOT4_001 is not present, try selecting USB001 instead and continue with all other steps. For those having trouble with finding HP Laserjet 3055 PCL5, try using PCL6 instead. This video teaches you how to install the HP LaserJet 1010 printer ...

Thanks for the suggestions but unfortunately although the computer apparently recognises the printer, jobs sent to the printer still get stuck.

In windows 10 the 1020 appears in device manager as a  printer but in W11 it appears  as USB device. Is this something to do with the  signature on the driver?

Hi @DavidH45

1. Yes, it could be something related to signature on driver.

2. Then try to install the next driver:
