HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-in-One Printer

Hello,

I am a completely lost Senior trying to assist my church office. I need assistance with the margins for documents. I have to get dated info out, and my document is shrinks into a column. I cannot reach anyone at HP for directions. Is there a factory reset for the original margins?  I am trying to print business letters on an 8X10 paper.

I am not tech savvy, but I do what I can and this has completely FLOORED ME.

If anyone can assist me, I will be deeply appreciative.

@Michele454,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

I’m here to help you troubleshoot your issue and get things back on track. Just follow these steps below, and we’ll have you running smoothly in no time:

Open Your Document

  • If you're using Microsoft Word (or another word processor), open the document you're trying to print.

Reset Margins to Default

For Microsoft Word (assuming you're using this):

  1. Click on the "Layout" tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Look for the "Margins" button and click on it.
  3. From the list, select "Normal" (this is the default margin setting, which should be 1 inch on all sides).
    • If you don’t see it, there might be a custom margin set, and you can change that to 1 inch all around.

To double-check margins manually:

  1. Click "Margins" on the Layout tab.
  2. Choose "Custom Margins" from the dropdown.
  3. In the window that appears, make sure the values are set to 1 inch for Top, Bottom, Left, and Right.
  4. Click OK to apply.

Set Paper Size to 8x10

  1. Stay in the Layout tab.
  2. Click on "Size".
  3. From the list of paper sizes, select 8x10 (or custom size if 8x10 isn’t available).
  4. If 8x10 isn’t listed, click "More Paper Sizes" and enter 8 inches for width and 10 inches for height, then click OK.

Check the Print Preview

  1. After setting the margins and paper size, go to File > Print to check the Print Preview.
    • This shows you what your document will look like when printed. If it's still too small or narrow, we may need to adjust the content of the document.

I’m pretty confident this will do the trick! But hey, if you run into any bumps along the way or need a little extra help, just give me a shout! I’ve got your back. 💪

Also, if this reply solved your problem (or made you feel like a tech wizard 😎), please click "Accepted Solution". It helps others, and I promise I’ll do a little happy dance. 🕺 Also, if you could click 'Yes' under ‘Was this reply helpful?’—that’s like giving me a virtual high-five. 🙌

Thanks again for being awesome, and I hope you have an amazing day ahead! 🌟

Cheers,
