Product: HP OfficeJet 8022e All-in-One Printer

I have been using non-brand cartrigdes on my HP OfficeJet 8022e. I just purchased new ones, and when installed, I get a 'non-HP Chip Detected' error. I've read that I need to downgrade my firmware to continue using the generic ink. Please help with the steps I need to take to do this.
