The firmware available in the Firmware Website page is (at this writing) a year old (2018).
In so much that I am aware, this firmware (and only this) is what is available from HP for this printer.
HP Officejet Pro 8610/8620/8630/8640/8660 and HP OfficeJet 8600 Series Printer Firmware Updater
To check which firmware is installed on the printer, print a status report.
User Guide - Page 125
If the version of Firmware installed is already the same as the download, it is to be expected that the firmware will not reload.
I do not have my Officejet Pro 8630 installed anymore (donating it) - as I recall, I believe you can perhaps invoke the Firmware update from the printer control panel, or perhaps from (somewhere) within the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
What if?

Notification at this printer's Website Support:
For non-hp original ink users an optional firmware update to remove dynamic security is now available for select Officejet, Officejet Pro, Officejet ProX printers. View article
The printer series was introduced in mid-2014
Personal Opinion
I doubt there will be another firmware update - the product is five years old and is considered "obsolete" (not likely to get anymore updates of any kind). That does not mean the printer will "die"; it just means that there may not be any "new" updates forthcoming for software or firmware. "No more updates", of course, does not include any sudden security issues that may surface - companies always stay alert for emergencies of this type.
You can certainly look for old software / firmware where ever you like - the Internet is full of surprises and sometimes you can find something useful that won't backfire. My personal opinion, known to be very conservative in this area, is to avoid downloading anything from anywhere that you do not know for absolute certain is safe.
