Hi @Ravi029,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you want to disable automatic updates for your HP LaserJet 178nw printer. Let’s go through the steps to do this:

Access the Printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Make sure your printer is connected to the network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).

Find the printer’s IP address: press the wireless button or check the network settings on the printer control panel.

Open a web browser on your PC and type the printer’s IP address in the address bar (e.g., http://192.168.1.25).

Press Enter to open the Embedded Web Server.

Log in (if required)

Some printers require login for settings changes. Default credentials are often:

Username: admin

Password: printed on a sticker or set during setup

If you set a custom password, use that.

Locate Update Settings

In the EWS, go to Settings → Printer Maintenance → Updates or Firmware Update.

Look for options like Automatically check for updates or Install updates automatically.

Disable Auto Updates

Uncheck the option to automatically check/install updates.

Save or apply the changes.

Optional: Manual Updates Only

After disabling auto updates, you can manually check for firmware updates periodically via the same EWS page.

I hope this helps.
