HP Envy 5000

My HP Envy printer lost connection to my Chromebook and I keep adding the printer's IP address to available printer list which doesn't match my computer's IP address,  to no avail. I opened the printer's IP web address on the Chromebook, but I don't know what to do now. Please help.

@Jendee1, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Refer to the document Set up your printer - Chromebook Help(This is a third-party link. Please do not click on any ad, image, download, popup or link or anywhere else as this is a third-party link meant only for viewing information) to learn about the printer configuration on your computer.

Also, use the document HP Printers - Printing from a Chromebook for help with printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I did all of the above, including putting the printer's IP address under saved printers on the Chromebook and nothing works. The print page does not open. Plus, I don't know why the computer adds 3 extra numbers to the printer's IP address. It was connected fine before, so I don't know why this suddenly happened.

@Jendee1

I understand your concerns.

Please provide the network configuration page.

Where do I find that?

@Jendee1

A Network Configuration Page lists important network settings such as network status and the printer IP address.

  1. Make sure there is U.S. letter or A4 size, unused, plain paper in the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, touch the Setup icon .

  3. Touch Tools.

  4. Swipe down the display, and then touch Network Configuration Page.

Please refer to the below link as well.
