Get a network report from your printer and look for the hostname, the domain name and the IP address.
You mentioned the network is down. If so, the the IP address is probably bogus. A typical bogus IP address starts with 169.x.y.z A good IP address might start with 10 or 192.
The hostname for your printer is a unique ID each printer has. My HP LJ cm1415 is NPI40CB07
The domain name is provided by the ISP that your gateway or modem is connected to. Mine is attlocal.net
When the network comes back up your printer's network report show the domain name and whatever lP address the router or modem provided it.
If the network is up, the IP address of your printer can always be found from (for example NPI40CB07)
C:\Users\josep>ping NPI40CB07 Pinging NPI40CB07.attlocal.net [fe80::3e4a:92ff:fe40:cb07%24] with 32 bytes of data: |
hope this helps!
