Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a problem with envy 6240  It suddenly stopped working.  I.ve reinstalled countless times and even tried installing drivers throughproblem control panel but still get the same problem  4 full days wasted now and cant use my instant ink that Im paying for either.  Ive used hpsmart.  Ive tried easy start.  ive tried print and scan doctor.  Ive tried removing and downloading the drivers and reinstalling the printer from control panel and still get that the printer is installed but the drivers are unavailable.  Just going round in circles and ive got college assessments to complete and hand in and no printouts to work on.

Are you able to copy?

 

Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart App.

 

If the issue still persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

 

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

 

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

No .  It still didn’t work.  It still keeps saying the driver is not installed.

I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:

 

•    Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.

I’ve already tried that.

I’m  trying that again.  It’s not prompting for drivers.  It says it’s adding the printer but still says there are no driver files after it’s added them.  If I look at properties it says no driver files are required or have been loaded for this device.  It is not giving me the opportunity to select the window drivers today.

Restart the Computer and try the steps given again.
